Pathfinder is seeking for Documentation Officer to support the USAID-DFID NGO Health Service Delivery Project (NHSDP) in Bangladesh. This five year USAID funded project will focus on supporting local NGO partners to offer the Essential Services Package in Population, Health, Family Planning and Nutrition to approximately 25M people across Bangladesh. This project will also emphasize behavior change communications (BCC) and community mobilization and institutional strengthening of local partners. This project aims to achieve the following intermediate results (IRs): IR1 – Client Base Expanded, Especially for the Poor, for a Quality Essential Service Package; IR2 – Optimal Health Behavior Promoted; and IR3 – Local Ownership of Service Delivery Enhanced.
Documentation Officer will support the Documentation and Communication Specialist, to publicize the project’s achievements nationally; specifically, ensuring that the target audience is aware that the funding support is coming from the American and British people.
Assist in the implementation of NHSDP communications strategy, outlining key communications priorities and activities aligned with the project’s three result areas
Conduct field level interviews, collect project data to develop success stories/case studies/ best practices/successful interventions
Assist all phases of development and implementation of publications, multi-media activities, journal and newsletter articles as assigned by D&C Specialist
Assist the Documentation & Communication Specialist with project report developments as required.
Assists in design, develops and maintains social media initiatives around project activities as appropriate
Helps to track dissemination of documents and products, and collects information so that selected communication activities can be evaluated
Maintains updates and improves project materials on a regular basis (including review/initiation of ideas for new material content)
Develop and update project brochures/technical briefs/newsletter and other project overviews for general or targeted audiences
Capitalizes on opportunities offered by new and emerging communications media and technologies to market the brand
Perform field visit as and when required to collect information on developing documents.
Assists in the development of the project’s technical staff member’s presentations for professional and other meetings
Provide support to staff on production and dissemination of printed and electronic materials.
Write timely reports and other documents as required by NHSDP.
Recruit and oversee consultants as needed for communications activities (e.g. English to Bengali translators and vice versa, printers), in coordination with the Finance & Admin Department.
Assist to oversee the I-share platform
Masters in Communication/Social Science/English from reputed public or private university. Educational requirement can be relaxed for the Journalists from English newspapers.
At least 3 years’ experience in NGO/development project/writing newspaper articles/research papers
Excellent command over writing English reports, success stories/case studies, lessons learned etc.
Adobe Illustrator software operation (optional)
